Linda Povey


As a marketing strategist and brand creator for the past twenty-five years, Linda Povey has developed enduring brands from strategic concept through creative execution for a wide range of organizations, including Coca Cola, Canyon Ranch, Nestlé, World Wildlife Fund and IKEA.

Linda possesses a broad spectrum of consumer expertise. Currently, as Vice President of Strategic Consulting for Natural Marketing Institute (NMI), Linda integrates health, wellness and sustainability trends and consumer insight into the brand identities and product offerings of clients including Kraft, McCormick, Bausch & Lomb, Honest Tea and Weleda. An expert in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative modalities, Linda is widely recognized for her ability to transform data into insight and creative opportunities for her clients.

Prior to her consulting role at NMI, Linda was Partner and Chief Marketing Strategist of Kanter International, where she developed and strengthened business concepts for entrepreneurial companies. From 1994 to 2001, Linda was President of Natural Resources Marketing, a firm dedicated to providing research expertise and strategic insight to some of the country’s market leaders, including The Limited, The Body Shop and The United Way.

Linda began her career by building one of the strongest and most successful brands in the United States, IKEA. As Marketing Director of IKEA U.S. for six years, she was instrumental in transforming IKEA from a European up-start to one of the most successful retailers in the country. In the process, she drove the production of effective and award-winning marketing campaigns.

Today, Linda shares her passion and expertise as a Communications Professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, teaching courses in brand strategy. She is also a board member of Unity College, a liberal arts college in Maine dedicated to educating the next generation of environmental leaders.

A spirited speaker, Linda frequently shares trends and thought-leadership at conferences and organization events, such as the Natural Product Expo, RILA, Natural Beauty Summit and the Health and Beauty Association.

An avid gardener, beekeeper and artist, Linda enjoys creating a sustainable environment at her home in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, where she lives with her husband, Heath, and their three Shiba Inus.
